Next year, maybe you should do the calling around and try to arrange something with your single friends that you can invite people to if they have no where to spend Thanksgiving. I'm glad you got out and made the most of your day. Now, it's over. Back to the same old same old.

Good idea, Theatre Geek! (I've often advised that hosting potlucks would net some good leftovers--as well as firmer friendships.) Now, Jim, you've got a whole year to clean your apartment and beg, borrow, steal or buy a card table and a set of folding chairs... (Any LA -area readers have any to donate? Potential Host Jim has no "dining room table" per se....)

Actually, I have a kitchen table now that would seat four comfortably (Five or six in a pinch). I think, more than housecleaning (Or trying to cook something), what stops me from trying this is fear of failure/embarrassment.

One of my favorite Thanksgivings was spent with a bunch of single friends. One of my friends was housesitting and she invited about 10 of us over to do the pot luck thing. It was fun. But I understand the fear factor in entertaining. I'm just now starting to realize it's not entirely up to me to make sure everyone has a good time. Glad you enjoyed your movie!
