I really recommend "The Wild Bunch", if you haven't seen it.

I have seen "The Wild Bunch", though I don't remember if I saw it during my "Western Phase", or when I was getting up-to-speed on my Peckinpah. But a good recommendation! And from one "Buffy" fan to another, I like your screen name :)

I have decided not to write anything about Saddam in my diary. I am pissed off that his ugly mug got the whole f-ing front page of our local paper dedicated to him. There is something wrong there. Why the hell do people who kill millions get famous, while I struggle to even get my name spelled correctly in the paper? This is a strange world. Our paper is shitty too. I found better Saddam news elsewhere.

Actually, it is Warren Oates' character's name in the W.B. Whatever 'Buffy' is, it was unintentional. More western recommendations from someone who gets all huffy when he hears someone say "I've never seen very many westerns": The Searchers, The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance, Once Upon a Time in the West (newly released to DVD with a beautiful print), Red River ('Mutiny on the Bounty' remade as a western), The Good the Bad and the Ugly, For a Few Dollars More (interesting twist: Lee VanCleef as 'the good' and Eastwood as 'the ugly'), Unforgiven, Stagecoach (then watch 'The Road Warrior' right afterwards), The Ox Bow Incident, My Darling Clementine, Johnny Guitar (once heard it described as 'beauty and the beast' with Joan Crawford playing 'the beast')
