Amen, brother! I think a lot of us with children are essentially "copping out" by saying we "find meaning" through our children. A child is important -- and we certainly have some influence over their lives -- but a child is not one's SELF. You may be "whipsawed by confusion" but you're also wise. One of the quotes in Dick's script Gus & Angie is "The unexamined life is not worth living." Well, if "examination" is a criterion of worth, you certainly are living a "worthy" life.

Damn... sorry about the audition. It sucks when they feel the need to cut you off like that. But, As i am discovering, you have to go on more auditions to even those odds. Paying for braces...I don't think I could have done that on my own. I hope you find a way to get them. It would help your overall look I am sure. People do notice teeth. I was struck by how nice this photographers teeth were the other day. I knew nothing about him, but I took one look and said to myself...wow, nice teeth! I am using whitening stuff right now until I can afford something more permanent. (did you check your mail today?)

Perhaps that's why you're out there trying to fulfill your dream - because you don't want to die and wonder if you could have done something more. As for your teeth, some dentists do orthodontic work and are cheaper than board certified orthodontists. (But they may not be as good either).
