I could not agree more. Is she afraid someone will read your review and then not give her work?? I mean, I love your journal and all Jim, but wasn't aware you had that much power out there in L.A. Perhaps you're being read in wider circles than we knew?

BTW, it would be LIBEL: " a statement or representation published without just cause and tending to expose another to public contempt (2) : defamation of a person by written or representational means. (SLANDER is always spoken, I believe. Just a little trot through the online dictionary.)

Besides, critics don't fall into the libel category, seeing as they're "critics". And this issue came up recently it seems to me (as well as being much talked-about in blogs) that criticism of work put out there for public consumption was just that, criticism. Not libel.
