A suggestion for those, like yourself and many others, who don't have spare funds to contribute for Katrina recovery: give blood. The Red Cross is having blood drives right and left in my area, and there's probably one going on near you, too.

Besides just regular blood-giving � there's some kind of "aphoresis" I think it's called, where they take some goodies out of your blood and then recycle the liquid part back INto you � that actually PAYS money. You could check at the Red Cross on that. Also, the trick to "Spam" � or ANY kind of meat, really, is to eat no more than 4 or 5 ounces at a time. "Dilute" it with rice, potatoes, noodles, vegetables. (On the rare occasions I indulge in my fave, Prime Rib, at a restaurant, I feel sick afterward if I eat the whole thing.) For cheaper, healthier eating, think of meat as an "accessory," not the bulk of your meal.
