Hi Jim, Honestly, it sounds like you're thinking too much. Improv, stand-up, acting in general is all about listening so you can react naturally. If your head is clogged up with: 'i stink' or 'what can/do I say next' you've already lost the battle. And you use up energy thinking, much more than reacting. It's a battle, I've been there. It was one of the things Len taught me how to master... to master myself... past my fears and anxiety and depression.. to just let myself BE. You sort of need to push you..out. It's early, I hope this made sense and helped even an iota. Kerry

Hey Jim! I, too, have a 'good' sleep side, which is also my right side! (When on my back or left side I have mild to moderate apnea, and SNORE like the dickens!!) Anyway, figuring out your sleep situation is important -- everything seems bigger, badder, more important when one is exhausted. You are a very resourceful and talented guy, and I think your anxieties over improv will diminish significantly once you are more than marginally rested! You absolutely can do it -- not a doubt in my mind. You've just got to solve the Rubic's cube of your sleep challenges...and I know you can do that, too. Strength for the journey!
